Bangalore: Linux is one operating system for guys who decide to go for their own way. Closely embracing the open source model, Linux operating systems has provided all the necessary tools to build your own custom version.

These easy-to-use tools has resulted in the emergence of some of the most outrageous and brilliant Linux distros that you could ever imagine. Today, the range or the array of distros are simply boundless, as you get to see tiny distros like Puppy to heavy and massive distros like Debian available in the market.  Apart from these operating systems, there are also several other disturbing and funky ones that are recommended as avoidable. These distros are not only wild, but some of them, indefinitely, supports racism and intolerance. So with that said, let’s go through some of the less-known, worse and truly- strange distros available today, as listed in makeuseof.com.

Ubuntu Satanic Edition:

Here is a distro strictly for Satanists. Also this edition is a well sorted proof that for every single personality, there is an Ubuntu distro. Based out of Ubuntu 10.10, the Satanic Edition is one rusty operating system that opposes Unity. The OS is primarily built around the very old rustic GNOME 2 desktop environment. Another interesting thing about this OS is that it features a really dark and red spooky kind of theme, truly appropriate for devil worshippers.

Now if you are thinking to own one, then you have to download a live CD. Dubbed by the developers as the ‘Undead CD’, the Ubuntu SE is more of a novelty choice with its cheap software contents and also it’s a perfect way to get a never-ending eye strain due to its atrocious red-on-black skinning choice.

Overall, this distro has received numerous complaints from critics, also claiming that the OS is not going well among Christian circle.

Hannah Montana Linux:

Yes, we also have a version for the Hannah Montana lovers. Although this distro is not as dangerous as the previous one, its still probably not going to be your operating system of your choice, unless you are a Disney lover or a vivid fan of Hannah Montana. Even the designer himself has quoted, “I thought – what would attract young users to Linux? So I created this idea after a lot of reading and work.”

Basically the distro’s layout is a re-skinned Ubuntu. But what stands out the most is the color. The overall pattern of the skin is colored in pink, that too ‘sick’ pink. The standard KDE menu is used as the Hannah Montana menu. What adds more to its downfall is that the distro misses GIMP, LibreOffice or KOffice.

Red Star OS:

Here is one of the first politically powered Linux distributions, the Red Star OS. A distribution of choice in North Korea, this project began in 2002 as a proposition to overthrow country’s dependence on Microsoft Windows, which was the primary OS of choice in the country up until then.

The operating system comes in Korean and also features a modified version of Mozilla Firefox called Naenara. Actually the prime use with this operating system was to connect the web browser to country’s intranet know as Kwangmyong, which practically is a big walled internet world that has no bridge to the standard internet we know and love.

Red Star OS uses KDE 3 and is currently moving onto its second version. This operating system basically can be found across universities, libraries and other institutions. Another interesting fact about the internet in North Korea is that private computer ownership is quite not common.

Apartheid Linux:

Now we all know that Apartheid was long before banished from earth. But unbelievably this system still exists in the Linux world, and even there is a very disturbing Linux distro on it- Apartheid Linux. Maybe one of the worst Linux distros ever, the Apartheid Linux simply is absurd and pointless. Certainly packed with offensive themes and wallpapers, this OS comes with a very odious banner, basically for the ignorant white racists set of people.

If thinking why some self professed white nationalists wants their own operating system- well, it will never make any sense. The distro basically is based on PCLinuxOS and comes with Tor installed within it. The operating system mostly comprises of Swastika wallpapers and other offensive stuff.

Without a doubt, this OS must be the most offensive and strangest distros ever released in Linux history.
