World's Famous Leaders and Their Weird Food Habits

Chennai: What a powerful leader or a common man, everyone possess guilt free feeling towards food; healthy, yummy, classy, whatever you have in store to describe. Don’t be surprised to see these famous personalities’ eating habit.  It may make you say, “Freaky eaters or world leaders!”  While some goes to satisfy their taste buds, for some it’s a healthy deal. And for some, they are just fussy with a touch of class. Here we present 8 of the world leaders whose eating habits may leave you saying, “Are you serious?” – article by Bhanvi Arora  of India TV


Margaret Thatcher


Margaret Thatcher, the first and the only female Prime Minister of UK, and is referred to as “Iron Lady”. Along with her firmness in politics, she was true to her reference in food habits too. On her eating style she refers to as, one of the best. She has a very strong liking for pretty toasts, marmalade and divine chocolates. To loose 20lb in 2 weeks, she ate 28 eggs per week, grapefruit and black coffee. Dinner included steak, fish and lamb chops.


Barack Obama


He is a diet conscious man. He loves low calorie foods that include 4-6 eggs, oatmeal, now and then. His favorite food list  includes, nuts, seeds & raisins, roasted almonds, MET-Rx chocolate, roasted peanut protein bars, handmade milk chocolates from Fran’s chocolates in Seattle; and vegetables includes, broccoli and spinach. Beetroot, ice-cream, salt, vinegar, potato chips, asparagus, and soft drinks are on his hate list. He definitely has a controlled mind for his diet!


Evo Morales


He does sound freaked out and proves that he hates chicken, when he stated, “eating chicken makes one gay.” He explained further, that chickenis full of female hormones that tempt men not to act as men!

He stays away from western food too as he described it as “a threat to humanity”, because it’s the cause of cancer and other diseases. His favorite food, Quinoa soup, which is a primitive food of the Incas and it’s sacred. Heavenly!


Richard Nixon


He was truly and totally in love with ketchup. His breakfast was, cottage cheese, fresh fruits, drenched in ketchup. If you believe in rumors, his last presidential meal was breakfast of cottage cheese and pineapple garnished with nothing else but ketchup!




Angela Merkel


Growing up in a place where scarcity of food is common and getting food was queuing up in long lines. This explains her behavior to store food. Angela Markel loves to cook some yummy food for herself. She loves letcho (a Hungarian vegetable stew), shashlik (a spicy kebab), as well as potato soup, trout and plum cake. Delicious!




Vladimir Putin


He is totally freaked out when it comes to his food. He has qualified food tasters by his side, to make sure his foods contain no poison and safe to eat. He loves pistachio ice-cream in chilled Russian winter. He surely does not want his ice-cream to melt away!




Kim Jong il


Weighing more than 200pounds, he was a foodie with selected taste buds and ate his choicest foods. Had a personal chef, Fujimoto, who flew around the world (collecting finest ingredients and new delicacies) for the sake of the taste buds of his master. Fujimoto revealed that his master, Kim JongII, had a desire to try treats like, Hippo, snakes and spiders; washed well with cognac and fine French wine! Well, he really was a James Bond fan!


Winston Churchill 


He was the man of the table. He loved table talk while indulging in his favorite food. He loved Stilton cheese, oysters, a roast dinner, and enjoyed ice cream over fruit for his dessert. He loved Irish stew with lots of small onions. His meal was incomplete without anything chilled to drink. And lastly, if you add water to his brandy, you will be a criminal! As, he loves brandy in its pure form.
